Mary Lanford

Working as a Realtor is the most rewarding job of my life. I love it. It’s a joy, always interesting, and an honor to be a part of something so incredibly important in another person’s life. I love a challenge, and no client’s needs are ever too big or too small. It took some time to find real estate. I was born and raised in Virginia, then worked in the art world in NYC upon graduating from UVA. I lived in Los Angeles for 10 years, during which Mary Burton Flowers was my business, and my favorite events were always weddings. That shared trust and excitement is what I feel should be implicit with each of my home buyers and sellers. I love the hand-holding and feeling like a part of the family, all while informing, inspiring, guiding and encouraging my clients. In 2009 I married a Fredericksburg native and soon became the proud mom to our wonderful boy and girl. We love hiking, kayaking, skiing, travel, tennis and reading. I look forward to working with you!

My first car was a butter yellow 1965 Ford Fairlane with tons of chrome. Beautiful, but no shoulder strap or AC.

I met Prince Charles and many of Europe's royal families when I worked for the Royal Academy of Arts for 2 and a half years.

I did flowers for Ludacris in Atlanta for his annual gala 3 years in a row, for several presidential Inaugural Balls in Washington DC, for Oprah Winfrey, Nancy Reagan, and for one Elton John Oscar party. I used organically-grown flowers for a wedding that was filmed as an episode on the National Geographic channel.

I once kissed Kevin Costner in a screen test.

I once played ping-pong against Salmon Rushdie.

I once played baseball with Matt Damon.

I once met Sean Cassidy in Ireland..
